Inter-Parliamentary debate on 16-17 March

Participants will be both Members of the European Parliament and Members of the economic and finance committees of the national parliaments of the Member States. This year's debate will receive special attention, as it is the year when the European Union will decide on its future strategy for growth and jobs until 2020. This also will be one of the main topic at the EU heads-of-states meeting in Brussels the week after. Therefore, the first half day of the debate will focus on this topic. The second half day will focus on global economic governance and financial stability and supervision. During these two days, Members and representatives from national parliaments will have the opportunity to have an exchange of views with Mr Dominique Strauss-Kahn, Ms Elena Salgado, Mr Mario Draghi, Mr Olli Rehn, Mr Jürgen Stark, Mr Michel Barnier and Mr Mario Monti.
