Biography

Erik Lenntorp is Deputy-Director General and Head of the Banking Division at the Swedish Ministry of Finance. The Banking Division is responsible for banking, payments and macroprudential regulation as well as the regulation on anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing, including Sweden´s participation in the Financial Action Task Force (FATF). Erik joined the Ministry of Finance in 2017. Prior to that Erik worked at the Riksbank, Sweden’s central bank, with various financial stability issues. During the last three years at the Riksbank, Erik was Head of the Financial Infrastructure Division and represented the Riksbank in BIS Committee on Payments and Markets Infrastructure (CPMI). Between 2000-2008 Erik was employed at Linköping University, first as a Ph.D. student and later as a post doc scholar. Erik holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Linköping University, a European Master in Law and Economics (EMLE) and a M. Pol. Sc. From Lund University.
