European Parliament Testimony on Financial Instruments Accounting

I testified today at a hearing of the Economic & Monetary Affairs (ECON) Committee of the European Parliament, on the IFRS9 International Financial Reporting Standard on accounting for financial instruments. My statement recommends endorsement of IFRS9 by the EU, on its own merits but also in the broader context of the EU's support of the IFRS project since the early 2000s.
