Feedback statement on the public consultation on the operations of the European Supervisory Authorities having taken place from 21 March to 16 May 2017

On 21 March 2017, Directorate-General for Financial Stability,
Financial Services and Capital Markets Union (DG FISMA) of the
European Commission launched a public consultation on the
operations of the European Supervisory Authorities (ESAs).
The consultation was designed to gather evidence from all
interested parties on the operations of the ESAs, focusing on a
number of issues in the following broad areas:
1. Tasks and powers;
2. Governance;
3. Supervisory architecture; and
4. Funding.
The consultation will feed into the review of the European System
of Financial Supervision (ESFS) to strengthen the effectiveness and
efficiency of oversight of the financial sector which is foreseen
in the Commission's Work Programme for 2017.
