AFME- Financial Markets and the Real Economy Event
mardi 01 juin 2010
The financial services industry in Europe and globally is subject
to the broadest regulatory reform agenda it has ever faced. Its
purpose is scrutinised, its social usefulness questioned. While
nearly everyone agrees that the sector will emerge profoundly
changed, few are able to answer two fundamental questions: What
will a post-reform financial services industry look like? Will
reforms achieve their objective of ensuring safe, sound and
efficient markets that serve the real economy? At this half day
event on 1 June, AFME will bring together a group of policymakers
and industry professionals to explore these issues.

John Berrigan, Acting Director, Macrofinancial Stability, European Commission
Mario Nava, Head of Unit for Banking and Financial Conglomerates, DG MARKT, European Commission
