Jana Kovalcikova is policy expert responsible for regulation and policy issues in the area of securitisation and covered bonds, within the capital markets union team at the European Banking Authority. As part of this role, Jana has worked on development of a number of EBA regulatory products and recommendations, including on the discussion paper on STS framework for synthetic securitisation, guidelines on interpretation of the STS securitisation criteria, technical standards on homogeneity in securitisation, discussion paper on significant risk transfer and 2016 report on the EU harmonisation of the covered bonds.

Jana jointed the European Banking Authority in 2012. Prior to this position, she worked as state advisor in the area of EU financial and banking regulation at the Ministry of Finance in Slovakia. Jana holds Master in Economics and International Relations from the University of Economics in Bratislava and Master in International Relations from the Cambridge University in the UK.
