Based in Paris, Pierre Gautier is a Senior Director in the Financial Institutions (FI) Ratings Group. He has been with S&P for about 15 years and has 17 years of experience in the finance industry.

Pierre is the Head of the Paris and London FI teams at S&P. The team covers 120 banks, nonbanks financial institutions, asset managers, exchanges and clearinghouses. Pierre is also leading S&P efforts in terms of integration of ESG in our bank credit ratings globally.

Previously, between early 2012 and late 2014, Pierre had similar managerial responsibilities for the Moscow-based FI team, which covered approx. 100 banks in Russia and the Community of Independent States (CIS).

Prior to his managerial roles, Pierre was a senior FI analyst covering complex Financial Institutions in Western Europe, notably in France, Belgium, Netherlands, Austria and Switzerland. Before joining S&P Global Ratings, Pierre worked for about 2 years at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in Paris, as financial auditor for some of the largest French banks.

Pierre holds a Master Degree (MSc) of Finance and Economics from the Lyon Business School (EM Lyon) in France and speaks English and German, in addition to his native French.
